Hublot LaFerrari Watch

Only 50 in numbered and limited-edition production, and the price tag is over $300,000. If the Hublot MP-05 LaFerrari watch isn’t meant to be exclusive, it’s hard to say what is.

Swiss watchmaker Hublot has partnered with the Ferrari design team to create a combination of art, machinery, and status-symbol on a wristwatch with 637 components and a record 50-day power reserve from a winding. It needs a special drill provided with the watch to wind it, and 11 interlocked tubes lined up like the spine to store the power. It looks like it could either call in an airstrike, tell you when a detonator goes off, fire a laser through a tank, or teleport you to your destination, and maybe even all four. In reality, it will probably adorn the wrists of 50 wealthy people dangling out the window of the latest supercar—probably a Ferrari, and elicit countless inquiries as to “where on earth did you get that?”

The exterior is made with a PVD titanium, and the inside features red—a signature of Ferrari—and black anodized aluminum. The hour and the minute, in case you were wondering, scroll on the right side of the watch, and the power reserve counts down on the left side, which wouldn’t calm the nerves of someone who believes it to be a detonator after all.

Gentleman’s Edge offers a variety of watchcases, winders, and valets fit even for the Hublot LaFerrari. Take a look, and find a parking space for yours.
